Anna’s Recap
The secret has been revealed! That wasn’t a spoiler, right? I always think that characters in dramas should have a little more disbelief when they find out someone time traveled a bajillion years, but nope…never happens. Same goes in this case. Chen Che actually didn’t have to reveal the secret yet, but he just can’t help himself, huh. What are the consequences that will come from him blabbing to Zhen Zhen? Probably her blabbing to someone else.
Episode 11
Zhen Zhen wakes up in her own bed with no memory of the “unconscious” kiss she shared with Chen Che last night. But what she does remember is him carrying her back to her own room while she’s asleep. She’s now convinced that this is definitive proof that he’s madly in love with her. Whoa there, gurl.
Ya Juan and Jin Qin are on a date at the park, but she’s distracted by the thought of her upcoming move to America. He announces that he wants everyone to know that they’re officially together. They’re going to announce to the whole world that they’re in love, including their parents. Ooohhh boy.
Later, the two of them stroll into a restaurant holding hands to meet confront Ya Juan’s mama about their undying love for each other. Cue the side eye! The mom is clearly displeased and calls Jin Qin useless and a devious thief who wants to “steal her daughter away.” But before Jin Qin can respond to all these insults, his dad suddenly storms into the restaurant! Basically, he calls Ya Juan’s mom an arrogant bitch who thinks she’s better than everyone else. He said it…not me.
After Jin Qin drags his father out of the restaurant, Ya Juan sees them outside arguing and his father slapping him for allowing that horrible woman to continuously disrespect and insult him. Once home, Ya Juan finally(!) summons the courage to call out her mom for what how awful she is. Ya Juan tells her to stop it already about how suppoedly everything she does is for her happiness, and drops the truth bomb that the only reason she wants to go abroad is to get the hell away from her. Dayum!
Xiao Long is breaking all the sales records at Taiyuan thanks to Director Wang’s assistant, Guo Sheng Tai, for giving him insider tips. Ew, but that dude greasy af. He convinces a super drunk Xiao Long to call Zhen Zhen to come out and meet them. She does go out to pick up Xiao Long since he’s obviously wasted. Chen Che arrives just in time to see them together after finding out from Zhen Zhen’s bro where she’s at. Recognizing the name Guo Sheng Tai as the same criminal wanted by authorities in 2016, he insists on taking Xiao Long and Zhen Zhen home himself.
After dropping off Xiao Long at his place, Zhen Zhen keeps asking why Chen Che is wary of Guo Sheng Tai. She thinks that it’s because he’s jealous of Xiao Long, but Chen Che tells her to chill out. Unable to take it anymore, Zhen Zhen confesses to Chen Che that she’s liked him for awhile and that it’s okay for him to admit his feelings too. Knowing that they’re from different time periods and cannot be together, Chen Che tells her that she misunderstood and that he doesn’t like her. Zhen Zhen refuses to believe it, so he delivers the final stab by saying that he doesn’t like her; never have and never will. Ouch.
Zhen Zhen asks Xiao Long what Guo Sheng Tai’s deal is, but he reassures her that he’s cool. He lowkey pressures Zhen Zhen into meeting with Guo Sheng Tai with him because he promised to introduce even more clients to them. Oh Xiao Long, you damn fool. Chen Che comes home to see Xiao Long and Guo Sheng Tai telling Zhen Zhen about some clients they have for her to meet tonight. He tells them that she’s not going anywhere with them and for Guo Sheng Tai to stay away from her. Zhen Zhen tells Chen Che to mind his own business since they’re just colleagues, and that she’ll go to the restaurant later.
Upstairs, Chen Che is frustrated that she won’t listen to him, but Zhen Zhen tells him that he has no right to tell her what to do. While she’s walking away, he blurts out he knows that Guo Sheng Tai is a wanted criminal because…he’s from 2016!!! THE FUTURE!!!
Zhen Zhen is in shock and thinks that this is just another lame excuse to reject her. While she’s throwing a hissy fit at him, he throws her over his shoulder and carries her to his room. Lolz. He takes a pic of her with his iphone, and that is apparently enough proof to show he’s from the future.
While Chen Che is mentally and emotionally exhausted from revealing this big secret, Zhen Zhen’s first reaction is to bemoan the fact that she’ll be 50 years old in 2016. As if she cannot be any more thirsty, she asks him if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s from 2016, would he like her? This chick is legit so, so dumb and shallow…but ugh, Chen Che nods.
Onboard the time machine:
Chen Che finished assembling and packaging the Christmas lights on his own while letting Zhen Zhen and her fam sleep.
Jin Qin tries to call and leave messages for Ya Juan, but she can’t call him back because she’s been grounded by her mom. Yeah, she’s a grown woman who’s grounded…stupid ’80s.
Zhen Zhen’s dad asks Chen Che to join him for a cup of tea at night to talk about the damn suit yet again. God, just drop it already! Mr. Ye is all types of suspicious about the suit’s origins, but Chen Che refuses to explain it any further.
Professor Chen asks Ya Juan’s mom to stop interfering with their daughter’s business, but obvi she refuses. She talks a good game about how he only sees Ya Juan’s present happiness, but she’s looking out for her whole life’s happiness. The Prof realizes that his wife’s interference might be why Ya Juan is so unhappy in 2016, but he’s skeptical on changing the future…
