Leng Xue is still in denial.
Finally, the female detectives show up to defend Li Mo, but they are easily defeated. Just as things are starting to look bleak, Leng Xue comes flying in and the criminal runs away. Ji Yao Hua also come by soon after and an angry Leng Xue reprimand her before taking off with Li Mo. Yao Hua finds the short knife and gives her underlings a good scolding.
Upon their return to Shen Hou Fu, Leng Xue immediately decides that Li Mo cannot be a detective anymore, but she is sure she wants to continue. She thanks him for worrying about her, but he is all like I’m just afraid you are going to be an extra burden. Ok, Leng Xue, you keep on thinking that.
The very next day, Tie Shou and Zhui Ming continue to investigate the case. Tie Shou suggests that they use the backdoor to exit because Yi Yi has been waiting for him at the front. So they take the back door, and guess who is there! It’s Yi Yi! She tells them that she has found two dead bodies in the forest.
Yi Yi recounts that she saw a group of crying women being shipped to some place in the morning. The men who were guarding them seem to have dumped the dead bodies before moving on. Zhui Ming hypothesizes that the two dead women committed suicide by biting their tongues. Tie Shou thinks there are six women left in the carriage based on the depth of the tracks. Uh…ok.
Zhui Ming and Tie Shou report the findings back to Zhu Ge. They had followed the carriage tracks for about 2 meters and then it disappeared at the end of the forest, which is a cliff. Zhu Ge eliminates the possibility of human trafficking because the criminal seems to be very apt at martial arts and this type of crime would be too simple for him. That’s some logic you got there.
It appears that Zhu Ge is right though, because ASG is behind it all. He is interested in the women’s blood for a special potion called Yu Mei Ren. The potion is something like the blue pill (not a la the Matrix), and will cause the person who takes it to lose sense of self and becomes only invested in doing the deed.
Chun Tong and some masked men use the potion on a group of government soldiers and servants. Once they smell it they see a bunch of pretty women running around. Chun Tong and the masked men take this opportunity to kill off all those affected and confiscate the key to a sacred room. Inside the room is the giant dragon jade stamp which is the symbol of the Emperor and the royal army.
Chun Tong brings the stamp back to ASG, who reveals that he is planning to use it to control the army and cause a rebellion, hoping to eventually claim the throne. Meanwhile, Wen Ru Yu, the guy who made the potion, overhears the conversation and decides that he also wants the stamp so he could build his kingdom as well. Mmmm, I get a feeling that this Wen Ru Yu is about to meet his fate.
Remember the girl who tried to kill Leng Xue’s foster parent? Well, she has made it into the city, but she is dirt poor and hungry. On top of that, she is also severely injured. After begging for some food with no success, she ends up eating leftovers from other customers. In her flashback we learn that she is Leng Xue’s childhood friend and they were separated when the wolf tribe was attacked. She also has half of a golden pendant. It should be from the wolf tribe and possibly from Leng Xue. Oh, and her name is Nu Nu.
- Ji Yao Hua overhears Leng Xue blaming her for not taking care of Li Mo.
- Nu Nu resorts to threats and force to get food and medicine.
- The Four and Li Mo are tasked with the case of the lost stamp.
- Zhui Ming accidentally sniffs the leftover potion and immediately sees the hallucination. For some reason Leng Xue was able to correctly guess the power of the potion before Zhui Ming even tried it. Hmmm, something you want to tell us, Leng Xue???
