Estelle’s Recap
*ASG = An Shi Geng/Prince An
While Leng Xue is healing at some cave filled with icy cold crystals, another official gets murdered. We finally see though that some woman with lots of white tails killed him.
The Four hears of the news and convinces Liu Shan Meng to join forces in order to investigate the case. Liu Shan Meng was able to preserve the animal scent and scar on the dead body, which helps Leng Xue to further eliminate bats, especially since vampire guy died already. Seriously… guys, I thought that discussion was over!
Chun Tong, ASG’s spy, figures out that one of the Four is the prince of the wolf tribe, but he isn’t sure which, so he suggests sending someone to Shen Hou Fu to further investigate. ASG is excited by the prospect of closing in on the wolf prince. Apparently the blood of the prince would be able to dissolve this giant opaque rock, in which there is the key to some crazy super powerful martial arts move, allowing whoever learns it to be unstoppable.
ASG visits Die Wu’s memorial plaque and here we go with another memory and a lot of badly CG-ed butterflies. Some time in the past, Die Wu gave ASG a life and death covenant in which she detailed that she will only dance for him and he must love only her in return. She also was the one to proposed to him. How modern you are!
Happiness didn’t last long and clearly neither did her promise about dancing only for him. The day after, Princess Hua Jiao came by to announce that the Emperor has invited Die Wu to dance at court. ASG was worried because the Emperor is very uh… lustful. So what did Die Wu do? She pulled out a jade pendant with the word righteousness engraved and gave it to him. She comforted him by saying that this pendant has been with her since childhood so she will be fine. What, what logic is that??? Giving away her lucky charm doesn’t sound like a smart plan… And then this girl kisses ASG. She is very forward, especially for that time!
Anyway, Die Wu went to court the next day, but she did not return as we already know. She committed suicide by jumping into a well after refusing to become the Emperor’s concubine, leaving behind one pair of red shoes. As a result of grief ASG’s hair turned white overnight (but not his eyebrows!).
In present day, a girl who looks exactly like Die Wu comes in with tea for ASG. He scolds her on having yet to master the dance moves and the poem he wrote. The dance moves may be difficult but the are a total of two lines in that poem, how could she struggle with that? Not to mention the poem is actually hanging on the wall; she could at least try to cheat, right? Anyway, she weeps and confesses that no matter how hard she tries, she will never be Die Wu because she is Ru Yan. ASG screams at her, telling her that she MUST become Die Wu and then storms out the place, leaving this poor girl crying. He also asks her if she is really stupid or if she is just not trying. LOL. I don’t know about you, but I think it is the latter.
Back at Shen Hou Fu, Ye Er suggests that they go out shopping and Li Mo reluctantly agrees. In order to avoid being identified, Li Mo dresses up as a man. While out on the street, they bump into a woman who steals Li Mo’s identification pendant for Shen Hou Fu. Later on, this woman follows them to the restaurant and puts something in the tea being served to the girls. Dung dung dungggggg.
