Estelle’s Recap

Gong Ming is announced dead by the court doctor, and Xiang Xiang wakes up in tears. Xiao Nan, Jing Jie and Yu Fei don’t know what’s up with her and she doesn’t explain. Back in 16 B.C., Ying Yue and Empress Xu both hear of the news.

Wang Mang is in trouble with the Emperor for causing Gong Ming’s death. Adding oil to fire, the masked elders also blame him for endangering the Wang family; they name him the new scapegoat. Wang Mang summons the court doctor to ask if Gong Ming suffered at the end, and if there were any last words, but the doctor confesses that Gong Ming has disappeared before his arrival.

Turns out this was all plotted out beforehand by Gong Ming and his teacher. His teacher was able to buy a favor from a court doctor (different from the one that informed the Emperor and Wang Mang) to announce Gong Ming’s death prematurely. Then, Ying Yue comes by with the real jade pendant and tucks it into Gong Ming’s shirt to send him to 2015.

Gong Ming suddenly appears in 2015 and a bunch of doctors bring him to the operation table. These are doctors Gong Ming paid a few days ago to rescue him at this exact time. He essentially prepared himself for this all along. Kid is smart, but how did he predict the timing so well?

Xiang Xiang is still deep in depression over Gong Ming’s supposed death. Suddenly there’s a text message from Gong Ming! He had written it a couple of days ago and set it send now. He confesses that he might not be able to keep up his promise this time, but if fate will have it then he might be saved. If that is the case, he asks for her to find him.

Xiang Xiang runs to the hospital to look for Gong Ming. Despite hearing that there is no patient named Gong Ming around, she checks around in the patient rooms and finds a bunch of bloody clothing on a bed. She seems to think that’s Gong Ming’s stuff and sheds mad tears.

A despondent Xiang Xiang walks out of the patient room and collapses, but guess who grabs her just in time? Gong Ming! Yes, the super weak and hurt Gong Ming. The one who was about to die just a few minutes ago. Yes, the one that just came off the surgery table. What the heck are you doing running around??? Stir crazy much?

After blaming him for disappearing on her again (and slapping him), she says “I love you” to Gong Ming and they kiss. Awww! Hospital kiss, another must.

Gong Ming returns home with Xiang Xiang despite his weak conditions. She continues to scold him for making her worry and putting himself in harm’s way. He tells her that he had wanted to die bravely, but just when he was about to die he was only able to think of how much he wanted to live so he can spend the rest of his life with her.

Back in 16 B.C., Wang Mang asks the Emperor to punish him for causing Gong Ming’s death. He says he is the most at fault because he didn’t believe his childhood friend. Instead of severely punishing him, the Emperor puts some of the Wang family in exile and then lowers Wang Mang’s title. In addition, the Wang family has a new favorite, causing Wang Mang to lose favor with Zhao Fei Yan as well.

Gong Ming wakes up to find a message from Xiang Xiang telling him to eat his meals. Then he sees that Xiang Xiang laid out an outfit for him. He also finds the jade pendant in his pocket. He remembers his teacher asking him to stay in 2015 even if Empress Xu falls in hard times again.

Speaking of Empress Xu – she is pregnant! And Wang Mang learns of this, planning to use it to his advantage. He plots to spread rumors that Empress Xu’s baby is Gong Ming’s, which wins the masked elders’ favor. At the same time, Gong Ming reads in the history books that Empress Xu commits suicide due to pressure from the rumors, and Wang Mang replaces the Emperor as the new king.

Upon learning this, Gong Ming visits Xiang Xiang to tell her that he will be returning to the Han dynasty once more. She gives him an ultimatum – stay here with her or break up. Of course, dutiful Gong Ming goes back to 16 B.C., leaving a heartbroken Xiang Xiang in 2015.

  1. gongming is much more smarter than kimboongdo. he even know how to timing his msge? plus… gongming know how to use his money.. (he don’t simply steal other’s cloths, or leaving hospitals without pay the bills)

actually i feel bad for wangmeng, he even asking for punishment, you poor boy fallen into gongming’s play.. but.. i don’t like how he wanted to twist the fact about the baby.. his friend just died, and he want to accuse his dead friend for something he didn’t do. how i wish gongming would comeback and pretend to be a ghost.. and try to scare wangmeng till he pee in his pants!! how did wangmeng become an emperor?? WOW!!
