Finally, the finale! Can’t say I didn’t anticipate the ending =\

Estelle’s Recap
And we resume with the Wallace/Tiffany flashbacks. I do have to admit their version is pretty cute, and Yi Chen is more adorable (maybe it’s the outfit? Wallace’s outfit makes him look more chillax). The young people version is really good too, but the tone is completely different. I can see why they used the version they used, but I’m glad we get to see this one, too. Anyway, onto the pictures!
Back to reality…
Yi Chen: And then?
Mo Sheng: And then I won’t go away and we will all live happily.
Yi Chen: How will you be good to me? Will you study by yourself? Or will you run the 800m yourself? Or do I not have to go line up on Wednesdays for sweet and sour ribs?
Mo Sheng: Yi Chen, let’s go eat sweet and sour ribs tomorrow.
Yi Chen: Okay.
Mo Sheng: At least when I’m by your side you won’t get stomach pains.
Yi Chen: You? Take care of me?
Mo Sheng: Maybe not, but you must take care of me so you will take of yourself too.
Yi Chen: Wah, let me see if your skin has grown thicker.
Then Yi Chen imagines that they live together by the time she gets to senior year and he starts working. Mo Sheng insists that she wouldn’t move in with him, but he tells her that her classes will be in the afternoon so it won’t be hard for her. Mo Sheng wonders how would he know that and he confesses that he went to look at her schedule back in the college days. Each major has a set schedule for each year, so he was able to look at her major’s schedule for her senior year. That’s… so depressing!
So they keep imagining. She says they would rent a two bedroom. He says she would want an additional room for a library, but even though he doesn’t have enough money for it, she won’t relent. After she graduates, Mo Sheng would not be able to find a job (much to her displease), and she will stay home to fix up the house they bought using money Yi Chen earned from a big case. And then Mo Sheng imagines he would propose and they would go immediately to get registered.
Back to reality and Yi Chen thinks to himself that if they were really to return to the past, everything would still happen as it did. Cue a bunch of flashbacks. So let’s fast forward shall we?
Anyway, guess who else is married? Yuan Feng and Xiao Xiao, and plus she is now preggers with their second baby. Dang. That be some fast action going on. We meet Xiao Xiao as she complains about how her career is completely ruined because she is pregnant again. Hahahahahaha. And Yuan Feng continues to be the nice guy that he is, taking care of everything at home.
After a visit with the Lus, Yi Chen confesses that he doesn’t want to have children yet because he is worried that it would take away from their two people time. Mo Sheng thinks it’s silly that he thinks this way and he promises that they will have children if that’s what she wants. So they hurry home to get started!
And yay! Mo Sheng gets preggers soon enough! Yi Chen excitedly calls up everyone he knows and make a bunch of arrangements, including dumping all his work on Lawyer Yuan in order to stay home. Mo Sheng asks what should she do then, and he replies NOTHING! Gosh, where do you find a man like this?
Mo Sheng: I thought getting you back is already perfect, but I didn’t know it could be even more perfect.
Yi Chen insists that if they have a girl, she has to be like him so she is smart and won’t be easily swindled. However, if the baby is a boy, he has to be like Yi Chen as well so girls will self recommend. Oh, the logic of Lawyer He.
And finally! It is time for Mo Sheng to give birth! A worried Yi Chen waits outside for who knows how long…
The baby boy is born! And everybody comes by to see 🙂 They name him He Zhao, which implies that the sun shines down, and the pinyin happens to be Mo Sheng’s last name. Totally unintentional, or so says our lawyer. Oh please, Yi Chen, we know it’s on purpose.
Cue time jump to yet another three years later! We find Yi Chen and Mo Sheng taking their son on a tour of their campus to see where it all started.
Mo Sheng: This kind of good weather is fit for going out, fit for taking photos (of someone in secret), and fit for spending the rest of my life with you.
Worthy of Note:
- Yi Chen notices that Mo Sheng’s monthly is late, so he rushes out to get a test. And he was right!

Hahah, it was all worth it! Wallace is going cameo on the big screen later this year in Monster Hunt, but because of Kai Ko’s drug arrest the film release might be delayed. I’m sure he will return soon!

Yes, now that it’s over I’m feeling a little sad, although the last couple of episodes were a bit draggy. Onto the next series to fill the emptiness in my heart! 🙂

huge question: Why isn’t he in the delivery room with her? lol. is he afraid she’s gonna curse him through all that pain?

Good question! Actually in China, a lot of hospitals don’t let the husbands go in the delivery room. So that might be why Yi Chen is waiting outside, but it may also be that they just didn’t want to film Tiffany giving birth or something.
