Estelle’s Recap

After warding off a couple of new misfits, including a kid looking for a new mom, a farmer who is mourning his dead goose, a homeless man and a candy supplier, she finally meets a magician (he has been in the background for a full five minutes by now) whose date did not show up. Cue Mayday’s Lian Ai ING on full blast.

Mr. Magician (Kang Ren Wu) runs after Hai Ning immediately and *magically* gives her his business cards, which Hai Ning throws away in disgust (ok, she didn’t have to do that…), but he still successfully sends her away with a deck of cards, a note and a bouquet of chocolate flowers. I actually think its kind of cute! Pesky though, but cute. #onlyindramas.

There is a light outage in the office! Oh, no it is actually Xu Lei, the magician dude. Man, he really is determined, even though this is the kind of face Hai Ning gives him:

She agrees to go out on a date with him on condition that he restores the electricity. Turns out he actually paid someone to control to electricity box which weirds everyone except Hai Ning out. Bei Bei describes this phenomena best when she says, “the weirder the date is, the more you want to date them.” Oh yes, Hai Ning is just a little freak, isn’t she?

Xu Lei and Hai Ning go out for dinner and bump into his ex-girlfriend plus her husband (also his friend). Can you spell awkward? He then launches into a long story about how he got together with his ex, how he lost her to the new man when the new guy protected her from some falling rocks. He concludes that this is the power of the “moment.”

Xu Lei: That one moment is only something God blessed you with. After that moment, you need many more moments to nurture your love. Therefore, your life will have many and many more moments to sustain your love so that it continues on and on.

Xu Lei plans one last surprise for Hai Ning. He asks a car to slowly approach them so he can protect Hai Ning from getting hurt (seriously?). However, instead of Hai Ning, his ex girlfriend’s husband’s ex girlfriend (yes, the one that also got dumped post falling rocks incident) actually walks in the line of “attack” and guess who falls in love with who?

Oh, Big Cheese shows up again at the very end. Meh.

Save Room for Dessert:

• Ah Fa is trying really hard to impress the new editor, but his girlfriend is also not so good seeing how she went to a motel with some guy.

• In other story, Tian Xin thinks her husband of 1 month is cheating on her! She convinces Hai Ning to try to catch him in the act. Hai Ning and Ah Fa go to the motel to check up on records with the aid of delivery boy. They find out that Tian Xin’s husband opens rooms with three girls at a time!! Tian Xin checks out the motel herself and catches him in the act. Of course, he was actually secretly planning a surprise birthday party for her… in a motel… real classy…

• Tian Xin goes drinking after “catching Xiao Qian in the act.” She drinks SO much that she goes to the hospital! WHAT ON EARTH IS SHE THINKING????? IS SHE FREAKING SERIOUS? She is unfit to be a mother!
• Ah Fa and Xu Lei became bros after venting one late night…
